Do not sound when you live in a ghost town

One more amusement of Chinglish should not kill anyone. here we go:

It says “请勿喧哗”. The close translation should be “please do not make noise” or “please keep your voice down”… “Do Not Sound”? Sorry for making a sound of clicking… I wonder where the word “please” is. I guess if one lives in a ghost town, one deserves to be rudely commanded not to make any sound.
