I said: ‘Play U2!’

I recently installed macOS Siri 4 on my MacBook Pro. Everything went well. I launched it and commented: ‘Neat’. Siri showed ‘Meet’, and asked me to add date and time. What? So, I asked Siri to ‘play Jazz’, it brought up a Jazz piece that I like. It went neatly this time. I asked Siri to ‘play Beatles’, it start playing a song from my Beatle collections. Neat! Neat! Neat! Then:

I asked Siri to ‘play U2’. It played a piece of piano from a Japanese anime “12 Kingdoms”. What? It turned out that the music is registered with UNKNOW artist. Ok, so, I asked to ‘play Songs of Innocence’ expecting a real U2’s song. It…made me mad. On Siri’s screen, my words became totally gibberish not making any sense to myself. Perhaps, it was due to that English is not my mother tongue, Siri could not recognize my accented Chiglish? The behaviours of macOS Siri are very discouraging. My accent will never change, at least, not in this life time.

Siri is not quite intelligent in the eyes of this technically challenged person. So, I cursed:’Stupid!’. Siri immediately asked:’ME? Have a good day!’, ha, ha, ha, it made me laugh this time.

The bright side is that Siri finally recognized my request of ‘Play Cowboy Bebop’. Yes, and thank you!

There we go, a piece of Cowboy Bebop.
